I treat patients with problems such as back pain, neck pain, sciatica, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, cartilage strains and tears, tendon strains, torn ligaments, joint problems, arthritis, osteoporosis, general mobility problems and sports injuries. Even twisted ankles – and too many other conditions to mention here.
Before I treat problems such as these, it’s important for me to get a picture of your whole lifestyle, to assess your posture and see how you go about day-to-day and work tasks: such an assessment helps me to work out what is likely to be causing the problem, how I can best treat it and how I can work with you to help it recurring.
Treatments are varied but can include ultrasound, heat and/or cold, massage, trigger point therapy, manipulations and other techniques. I’ll also give you advice about your lifestyle – but only in the sense of making postural and physical behavioural adjustments, rather than lecturing you about tobacco, alcohol and any other vices you may enjoy. I’ll prescribe some posture corrections for both everyday life and work, and also exercise routines, such as stretching for tight muscles and arthritis and weight-bearing exercises for osteoporosis, that you can use at home.
